Windsor Jesters 2008/2009 The Jesters are Windsor's 4th XV. We play competitive "social" rugby in Division B of the Thames Valley Invitation League and supplement this with friendly games against local teams most other Saturdays throughout the season. Come and Join Us! The Jesters are always looking for new players of all ages (currently we range from 23 to 57 years old) and abilities (near-novices through ex-1st XV players to a certain Kiwi with 58 All Black Caps to his name). As a genuine social side training is not a pre-requisite, though Jesters are welcome to "practise" from 7.30 onwards on Thursdays at Home Park. If you are interested in playing for Windsor Jesters please contact team manager, Pat Flisher: pat.flisher@btinternet.com (07710 012031) or team captain, Francis Boundy: fboundy@fboundy.plus.com (07920 507198). On or about Monday morning the skipper sends out an email to all Jesters (somewhere around 50 of them) stating when and where the following Saturday's fixture is. Those not on email get an SMS message. You simply have to reply: Available (stating Club or Direct if it's an away game) or Unavailable If you are available and you don't hear anything else you just turn up at the appointed time and place. The actual selection criteria are many and varied but we will always try to get as many people a game (or a half) as possible. However, the earlier you reply the more likely you are to start. If you repeatedly say you are available and then cry off on Friday night or Saturday you are also less likely to start. And everything can be thrown up in the air by cry-offs further up the club! Touring The Jesters enjoyed a very successful tour to Britanny in February 2005 - click here for details and photos.
