WELCOME TO WINDSOR RFC UNDER 16's

A warm welcome to Windsor RFC and our Under 16 home page.  We are in our fourth and final year in the Berkshire Youth League and having been the narrowest of runners ups for the last two seasons, we hope to finish in style by at last winning the Cup in 2010.  To do that we need YOUR help! 
We run a First XV from a squad of about 30 but our emphasis is on ensuring that everybody gets plenty of rugby.  In our five BYL fixtures the priority goes to picking the strongest team.  In our many remaining fixtures we ensure that everybody who trains gets plenty of match time on the pitch to develop their skills and to push for a regular first team slot. 
We are one of the strongest teams in the area and have six boys selected for the Berkshire County  Squad with two of those further selected in the London Irish Academy.  We have an exciting fast running, fast playing team with the emphasis on developing and encouraging individual skills within a tight and structured framework of team play.   Come along and join us and you WILL improve and you WILL learn!  
Total beginners are very welcome along with experienced players where our team of six RFU qualified coaches, all of whom are Criminal Record Bureau checked and passed, look forward to bringing first class training programmes each week.  All you need is a gum shield, a pair of boots, shorts, shirt and socks and come on down.  When the weather turns cold we suggest plenty of warm clothing (tracksuits but without zips) and always bring water to keep hydrated. 
We train on Sundays meeting at the Home Park at 9.45am and go through until noon.   Afterwards there is a very friendly club house where the bar is open and there is a kitchen where steak rolls, burgers, hot dogs and chips are on sale.  There is also a sweet shop and a club shop on site which sells every bit of kit you will need to sort your lad out. 
We enjoy touring and we are off to Norwich in East Anglia next Easter so if you wish to join the club and sign up please do so.  Last year we won the Irish International Festival of Rugby in Cork and brought back a trophy as big as a church steeple!
Nothing in life is free and we are no exception! There is a membership fee but with training beginning in August and going through until the end of April I am sure you will agree that £85 for nine months is very good value indeed.  All membership forms can be downloaded from this site and given to our team manager Judith Clutterbuck.  
With 19 scheduled fixtures and more to come, a tournament and a tour, there will be plenty of rugby to keep your boys happy all season!
