Windsor Host Illinois Tornadoes This weekend the club hosted the Illinois Tornados on the first leg of their tour of Great Britain and Ireland. Four age groups from Colts , U17s and U16s combined to billet the touring squad of 28 players. Windsor started well but squandered early opportunities to open the scoring. The Tornados capitalised and scored two converted tries early on to take a 14-0 lead before Windsor replied through James Enright to make it 14-5. A fine solo try from Matthew Tassell put Windsor back in contention at 14-10 but then almost immediately a loose pass in midfield was intercepted by the Tornados to stretch their lead to 21-10. Charlie Herd then scored a converted try under the posts but the Tornados extended their lead again after running on to a well placed kick. Windsor’s man of the match , Danny Pyatt , then scored two fine tries , one in each corner to give Windsor a 29-28 advantage then James Enright scored a well worked try a minute from time.
